The 3rd XI traveled to Meigle yesterday in the SPCU Breedon R&D League.
Winning the toss and batting first the 3rd XI put on an impressive 205 for 9 off the 40 overs. Highlight was a fantastic century for Matthew Lowdon (100 not out).
Meigle came out and batted well hunting down the total and taking the game to the last over. Having bowled what everyone onfield thought was the last ball, DHSFPCC celebrated the win and shook hands with the batsmen before the scorer sent the teams back on for another, disputed last ball. Meigle promptly got the runs needed and sealed the victory at Victory Park.
Although a controversial end, DHSFPCC and Meigle should be proud of such a high-standard game in the SPCU R&D League with over 400 runs and 16 wickets on a Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to Meigle!
